Banner’s New Home
As you may know, Banner has had a long-time facility management relationship with the Odd Fellows, a fraternal organization who built these buildings over 100 years ago. For the last 30 years, we have been stewards of the campus and the three buildings on this historic campus have come to represent our three founding families – Nisenfeld Hall, Botkin Hall and Miller Hall. These families were instrumental in building Banner and are the embodiment of Banner’s early mission to “probe and shed light” in all that we do.
From our little white farmhouse on Jefferson Street, to Carroll Parkway, and finally to this campus, our School has had many homes. We are very excited to share that Banner is no longer renting from the Odd Fellows and are purchasing a new school facility that will become a more permanent home for The Banner School!
We look forward to being a larger part of the downtown Frederick community and making plans for nature-based education and walking classes and for field trips. Our increase in square footage will not only allow us to increase enrollment opportunities and a realize a healthier budget, but also give our school the stability it has so desperately needed for so many years. We will take our traditions with us to this new property as we continue to grow and thrive.
We realize that this move comes with a lot of questions. Our Moving FAQ will include key details about our move as we plan our transition and will be updated periodically. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to our Board of Trustees or administration.
