 Kindergarten - Grade 4

During the K-4 years, students at The Banner School grow leaps and bounds towards becoming independent learners. Basic skills in reading, writing, and mathematics develop through a consistent scope and sequence using The Open Court Reading and Mathematics Programs.

Instruction in science, social studies, and Spanish are part of the regular school schedule, along with physical education, art, computer lab, and music. Students visit our science classroom that provides space and opportunities for hands-on activities related to their topics of study.

Students participate in field trips that are related to core studies as well as dramatizations based on literary themes or social studies connections.

Organization, research, and study skills are reinforced throughout all subject areas, preparing students for the middle school years that lie ahead.

We never forget that we are educating children. Their playful nature, inquisitiveness, and energy are celebrated here at The Banner School. Children are all unique and, thus, develop at different rates.

Our staff includes a Reading Resource Specialist who provides enrichment for students needing additional support in grades K-4.

The small class size at The Banner School enhances our opportunities to offer personalized attention so that we can identify and meet child-specific goals.

We welcome your family to a child-centered, acadmically challenging, and nurturing environment in which to foster success and a love of learning that lasts a lifetime - a Banner Education.
