Banner Pre-School
“Your child is about to begin an educational journey! At the Banner Preschool, we will partner with you and your child to develop a foundation that will lead to academic success. We offer a dynamic curriculum in which every child takes an active role in the learning process. Children are given the opportunity to choose and plan activities with teacher support. We believe this is the best way to instill an early love of learning. Give your child the gift of a lifetime – A Banner Education!”
Overview:
Thank you for considering The Banner School Preschool for your child's first school experience. Banner is a great community and Preschool is a great time to become part of it. Our Preschool program follows in Banner's tradition of academic excellence. Preschool students have access to the culture, amenities and special events of Frederick's oldest and only independent, non-sectarian, co-educational day school.
Applications are still being accepted for the 2010-2011 school year, and we will continue to enroll students based upon classroom availability and student qualifications. Please submit the $50, non-refundable application fee with the application.
There are two classrooms, one for three year olds and one for four year olds. The combination of both classes may occur at times to be determined by school if the number of students in one age group is too small to open a separate classroom. Both full and part time schedules are available. Full time is Monday through Friday, 8:45 am-3pm. Part time is either MWF, 8:45 am-3pm, T/TH, 8:45am-3pm or M-F, 8:45 a.m.-12:45 p.m. Four year olds will be offered the full time program or M-F, 8:45a.m.-12:45p.m. programs only, beginning with the '09-10 school year.
The Banner School’s administration and Board of Trustees are pleased to announce that, effective this 2010-2011 school year, our preschool will now include the option of a full-day program that includes morning/afternoon extended care at no additional cost to you. In addition (drum roll, please!), the preschool program will also remain available to you all summer long for merely an additional activity fee of $250 and no weekly camp fees! And rest assured that the summer session will not be mere daycare but a genuine summer preschool program with a summer camp emphasis.
Please note that, in keeping with Banner’s calendar, the preschool will continue to be closed along with the rest of Banner for all holidays, teacher work days, vacations and snow days.
From an educational and child-development standpoint, we are proud that by offering preschool year-round, those of you who have had to seek alternative arrangements for your 3-, 4- and young 5-year-olds during the summer months will be able to provide them with a consistent schedule and environment, as we know that these can be difficult ages to acclimate to a new setting for a few weeks here and there. We also hope that you will enjoy the added value of before and after care throughout the school year, which will be included in your preschool tuition.
Full time preschool tuition for the '10-11 school year will be the same as the K-8th grades (see tuition and fees page).
Part time tuition for the '10-11 school year will be as follows:
M-F (am only) 70% of full tuition Three and Four year olds
MWF (full day) 70% of full tuition Three year olds only
T/TH (full day) 50% of full tuition Three year olds only
See tuition and fees page for more information.
Financial aid is available for full time preschool!!!
