Beyond the Classroom

Our vision for student learning at Banner includes exposure and opportunity in a variety of arenas. Each year we host an Arts Week in which outside professional speakers and performers showcase their talents and skills. Some past inclusions were Calder Mobile artists, folk musicians, children’s authors, Shakespearean troupes, and aerial dance artists.  We immerse our students in a week-long thematic study that crosses all curriculum areas, expands the ordinary classroom framework, and brings the whole school together in a culminating event.  A few of the topics have included Space Exploration, Ancient Culture, and Presidential Elections.
