Stay in Touch
A Banner education prepares students for a lifelong love of learning. Each year in January we host our annual Alumni Day visit. An afternoon is set aside for a special assembly to honor our past graduates and hear of their experiences since graduating from Banner. They answer questions from our Middle School students and are treated to an informal reception afterwards with their former teachers and Banner’s Head of School. It is a great time to renew friendships and share their successes in the world and their chosen professions.
Ben Meyers (Class of 2006) will graduate Berklee School of Music in May with a degree in Music Business and Management with a focus in Entrepreneurship. Ben plans to stay in the Boston area after graduation to continue running 21 Summit Studios, a wedding photo/ video company, and 21 Summit Productions, which has been his music video and live music video company for the past three years. Ben and two collaborators wrote a song entitled "So Good - The Boston Song," in 2010 as a fun anthem for the city. A few months ago, the Ford Motor Company purchased the song for a 13-week commercial license for TV and radio advertisements to run in the New England area. Ford received such a great response from the ads that they have now asked to extend the license for three years. Ben said that some of his friends who live in New England still text or call him to say that they heard his song on the radio/TV. Ben and his partners are using the momentum from this project to secure other writing contracts similar to it, and they are currently in negotiations with Hasbro, a children's toy company, for another project.
Congratulations to Banner graduate Sarah Krones (Class of 1997), who is a second-year dual-degree student in the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and Master of Public Health programs at Virginia Tech. Sarah was chosen to represent the Veterinary College and the Student American Veterinary Medical Association at two international conferences in Indonesia and Turkey in 2014.
