Welcome to The Banner School, Frederick County’s oldest and only non-sectarian independent day school, serving students in preschool (ages 3 and 4) through eighth grade. This is a truly exceptional place, one with an extraordinary educational program and a wealth of opportunities both during and after regular school hours for every student and every student’s family. The Banner School is a warm and caring place, where every child is known by every adult on campus, where children find a safe and supportive environment both physically and emotionally, and where intellectual curiosity, independent thinking, and individual creativity are prized.

 

As Frederick County’s only non-religiously affiliated independent school, The Banner School takes pride in its diverse community. As a member of the Association of Independent Maryland Schools (AIMS), The Banner School is a college-preparatory primary and middle school.
